As well as being wildlife havens, Devon’s hedges are full of plants that we can eat. Join us to explore the magic of Spring and the wild edible plants we can forage from the hedgerows.
On this course you will find out how the history and managements of hedges has created such a diverse hedgerow ecology with all the benefits for wildlife and humans.
You will learn how to safely & sensitively identify, gather & prepare an array of plants to be able to make delicious wild salads, wild teas and find out about the many other ways to bring this wild nourishment into your life.
Expect slow & gentle wandering amongst some beautiful, traditionally managed, ancient Devon hedgerows as we touch, smell, taste and see our way through a myriad of amazing plants.
Rebecca Headd, from @tendingthewildinside, is an experienced forager & nature obsessive with a passion for hedges and connection to nature. Jeremy Weiss runs Proper Edges and is a skilled hedge layer and teacher.
