Guided Tours
Jeremy can come to your site and offer a two-hour guided tour of the hedges. Using the hedges on site, he can discribe their ancient origins and recent history as well as explaining why hedges have such diverse ecology, how they serve both humans and wildlife, and what techniques we can employ to maintain them and keep them in good health for future generations.
He also runs regular guided tours of the hedges at Hood Manor, home of the South Devon Steiner School, near Dartington, Totnes. See the courses page for more details.
Talks
There is also a hedge talk that he can deliver in a more formal setting such as a village hall, community centre, school, college or university. This is based on a slideshow entitled: “Hedges of Devon and Cornwall: Origins, History, Ecology and Management.”
Feedback
‘The hedgerow walks Jeremy has led for us at Cornwall Heritage Trust (CHT) have been extremely popular, and consistently received overwhelmingly positive attendee feedback. Jeremy’s inspiring passion and knowledge for all things ‘hedge’ has made the collaborative work between CHT and Proper Edges a joy – we always look forward to working together and hope there will be many more opportunities in the future.’ – James Shipway, CHT.
