When hedge banks become eroded they can be repaired using turf in the traditional way. Turves are cut from the adjacent field and carefully stacked up like blockwork, with soil packed in behind. It’s a useful and satisfying skill to master and should be part of any Westcountry hedge layer’s skillset.
